Cu aceasta piesa, sensibilitatea lui Freddie atinge, cu siguranta, apogeul, creand unul din cele mai frumoase cantece de dragoste ale tuturor epocilor: delicatetea si disperarea sentimentului au fost, sunt si vor fi mereu valabile. Pe o tesatura muzicala subtila, in care pianul, violoncelul si chitara electrica se infratesc intr-o nota superb uniforma. Freddie dezvolta tema iubirii eterne, cu durerea si regretul omului care simte ca o pierde- performanta vocala devine de neuitat prin emotia pe care o trezeste. Iubirea este puternica, iubirea iti ia totul ("you've taken my love"), iubirea nu piere niciodata ("when I grow older, I will be there at your side"), dar este, in esenta, o taina, o enigma, o necunoscuta a ecuatiei sufletesti ("you don't know what it means to me")- cu toate acestea, este ceva atat de necesar, ca viata este searbada in lipsa iubirii. Tindem sa credem ca "love of my life" nu este, in acceptiunea textului, numai o persoana, ci insusi sentimentul: de ce, altfel, s-ar folosi pronumele neutru "it" ("bring it back"?). Si daca mesajul este miscator, interpretarea este nu mai putin emotionanta. Daca vreti sa traiti sfasierea din dragoste a unui suflet, ascultati Love Of My Life...
