Celor carora acest titlu li se pare derutant, comentariul nostru vine sa le linisteasca temerile: "pain" nu este numai durere fizica, ci mai ales sufleteasca, iar piesa vorbeste despre iubirea adevarata, pe care oamenii nu o vad ("they sounded brokenhearted"), pentru ca nu stiu de ce au nevoie cu adevarat ("pain is all I got, when all I needed was some love and affection"), pentru ca nu sunt stabili in sentimente ("one day we love each other then we're fighting one another").
