Cele doua piese de rezistenta ale albumului Innuendo, These Are The Days Of Our Lives si The Show Must Go On, au o valoare aparte in cadrul creatiei muzicale a trupei. The Show Must Go On a fost lansat doar cu o luna inainte de sfarsit, iar These Are The Days Of Our Lives este ultimul videoclip filmat de Freddie. Nu stim ce impact au avut asupra publicului la vremea lansarii, dar, dupa tragica zi de 24 noiembrie 1991, valoarea lor simbolica a devenit evidenta. Piesa de care ne ocupam acum este o privire aruncata in urma, ca un "adio" catre viata, pe cand The Show Must Go On este un indemn de viitor.

Nota lirica, nostalgica si duioasa, care vibreaza in acordurile acestei piese, se potriveste tristetii care razbate din intregul album. Sa fie aceasta datorita faptului ca stiau ca Freddie nu mai avea mult timp?

Privirea retrospectiva asupra vietii este cea a unui om care stie ca are sa se desparta, in curand, de ea. A disparut orice urma de suferinta, de amintire nefericita, tonul este doar nuantat de o dulce nostalgie ("bad things in life were so few", "things seemed so perfect, you know") si de o dorinta tainica de intoarcere la copilarie ("you can't turn back the clock, you can't turn back the tide"). La momentul despartirii, in urma nu exista regrete, singurul lucru care a ramas stralucitor in amintire este iubirea: "I still love you"...

Videoclipul, cu cadre alb-negru, contine o secventa memorabila de final, cu Freddie oprindu-se din cantat, privind catre podea si soptind ultimul vers ("I still love you")- o imagine emotionantam cu atat mai mult, cu cat acesta a fost ultimul cadru inregistrat cu Freddie.
