Parodie muzicala la adresa valsului, piesa este scrisa in masura de 3/4, specifica acestui dans, scheletul melodic fiind imbracat la fiecare masura in acordurile chitarei. Mesajul este simpatic si romantic totodata: ce poate face un indragostit parasit de cea pe care o iubeste ("you've got a new partner and left me like a broken toy")? Poate ca altul nu ar sti ce sa faca, dar el stie prea bine: daca nu poate fi cu ea cand e treaz, atunci are sa o viseze si sa se intalneasca la balul visatorilor ("I know just what I have to do, if I can't have you when I'm waking, I'll go to sleep and dream I'm with you"). Odata intrat in spatiul magic al visului, toate se vor desfasura asa cum isi doreste: va fi atat de frumos, incat ea il va iubi de cum il va vedea ("I'll be right on time and I'll dress so fine, you're gonna love me when you see me"), va dansa privind pierdut in ochii iubitei si observandu-i reactiile ("you make my life worthwhile with the slightest smile or destroy me with a barely perceptible whisper").
