Cu un ritm hipnotizant si cu niste versuri cel putin stranii, Sheer Heart Attack este o melodie de o frumusete si o performanta vocala deosebite. Sheer Heart Attack este diferita atat prin ritmul de rock'n'roll pe care il impune, cat si prin mesajul pe care il transmite. Spre deosebire de celelalte melodii, aceasta te situeaza, inca din primul vers, intr-un timp bine precizat si anume la varsta de 17 ani ("well you're just 17"). Aceasta melodie trateaza dorintele ascunse ale adolescentilor si anume dorinta de a evada din aceasta lume, deoarece te simti paralizat ("gotta feelin' like a paralyse") si nu mai poti face nimic altceva decat sa te cufunzi in lumea de la televizor ("turn on the, T.V. let it drip right down in your eyes"), de a disparea ("all you wanna do is dissappear"). Toate acestea fac din viata un motiv pentru adolescentul de 17 ani de a face "sheer heart attack". Rectific ce am spus: nu viata il face pe om sa fie asa cum este ci ADN-ul ("it was the DNA... that made me this way"). Roger ne convinge ca ceea ce spune el o stie toata lumea printr-o expresie absolut minunata ("you know what I mean there's a lot of space between your ears"). Aceasta este cu atat mai deosebita cu cat este mai mare discrepanta dintre un titlu si un ritm atat de serios si niste versuri pline de comic...
